Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026.

Printable Names LLC operates Carvable Signs. We hold on to as little as it takes to draw your sign and deliver its files. Your information is never sold, and the site carries no advertising.

What we store

  • Account details. Sign-in goes through Google, using Firebase Authentication. From that we receive the name, email address, and profile photo on your Google account, plus an account id.
  • Your signs. Designs you save (the words and every choice: board, style, edge, bits, machine, and CAM program), the sign files you pay for, and a record of the credits you buy and spend.
  • Payment results. Stripe collects your card and billing details. All we're told is that a payment succeeded and which pack of credits it bought. Your card number never reaches us.
  • Server logs. Every request reaching our servers leaves a log line: IP address, browser details, which page or file it wanted, and your account id if one is attached. The logs help us fix problems and block abuse, and they're erased after roughly 30 days.
  • Welcome credits. So each email address gets its free credits only once, we store a hash of the address: a scrambled fingerprint that can't be reversed into the email.

On your device

Your browser keeps you signed in and remembers the CNC machine and CAM program you chose last, so a new sign starts with them. When you share a design, the link itself carries the design, so whoever opens it sees the words and choices on it (but not your machine).

Google Analytics tells us how many people visit and which signs get designed and bought. It sets cookies and reports to Google which pages you view, which sign templates you preview and buy, what browser and device you use, and a rough location based on your IP address. The words on your signs, your email address, and your payment details are never sent to it. We don't use advertising cookies, and analytics isn't used to target you with ads.

If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics stays switched off until you say yes. Wherever you are, Cookie choices in the page footer lets you change your answer, and clearing this site's cookies resets it.

Companies that process it for us

Your data is never sold or rented. These services handle it on our behalf, solely to operate the service:

  • Google Cloud and Firebase: servers, the sign-in system, the database of designs, and file storage, located in the US.
  • Stripe: takes your payment and is the legal seller (merchant of record) of each credit pack.
  • Google Analytics: visit counts and usage, as explained above.

Beyond those, we disclose data only when the law compels us to.

Erasing your account

The account page has a button to delete your account. Deleting removes your saved designs, every sign file, and the sign-in itself. What stays afterward:

  • the history of credits bought and spent, kept for bookkeeping under a random id that can't be traced back to you;
  • the hash of your email address, so the welcome credits aren't handed out a second time.

Database backups cover about one week, so anything you delete is out of them within 7 days.

Kids

Nobody under 13 should use the site, and we don't set out to collect anything from children that young. An adult is welcome to design a sign for a child.
